Curious
CU RI OUS (adjective)
- Having a desire to learn or know more about something or someone
- Strange, unusual, or unexpected
Teenagers are often perceived as explorers, seeking out new opportunities and paths in life. Marking a teenager as "curious" can be positive, for a teenager with a passion to discover new things will often benefit themselves or others, but can also be very negative. For example, if someone were to say that a teenager is "curious" about drugs or alcohol, it is an accusation and insult towards a teenager's responsibility and sense. Because of this, the word "curious" is a very general, vague term used when describing teenagers.
Is it true?
Yes. The teenage years of a persons life are meant to be a time of search and discovery. Teenagers are often very curious about their surroundings and opportunities in the world, and are willing to explore many options before settling down into adulthood. Teenagers are often not the same from one year to the next, for they mold their lives and personalities around their new discoveries. Adolescents are specifically curious about having a future and often search out different opportunities available to them. Curiosity is one of the teenage traits that can weaken after a teenager enters adulthood.
